SALT LAKE CITY, UT - Ouray Software, LLC announced OurayCM, a new version control tool for software developers.
OurayCM (aka OCM) provides advanced features such as unlimited branching with automatic merge tracking, file and directory renames, remote network-disconnected development, use-based pricing, release management, a graphical interface, and multi-platform support. It is easy to use and comparatively inexpensive.
OurayCM has a unique property, called Durable Versions, which gives developers fine-grained recovery ability and provides a permanent, detailed project history. The state of workspaces and shared areas are efficiently stored as they evolve over time, and all past workspace versions can be browsed, compared, and extracted.
In addition to providing excellent history and recovery features, OurayCM provides a review mechanism that allows the developer to see exactly what will be brought into his workspace or published to a shared area if he approves the operation. This helps minimize time-wasting errors resulting from the premature publication of changes and facilitates iterative code review.
With OurayCM it is particularly easy to resume development starting with an old version of the code, as is necessary when fixing a bug in a past release. OurayCM's remote development features include a network-disconnected mode, where remote developers with no permanent network connection still have full-featured version control and the ability to synchronize with the main repository via network, email, or other media.
OurayCM runs on multiple platforms, including Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X 10.3 or higher. Support for Sun Solaris will be available in July 2004; please inquire regarding other platforms and operating systems (EMAIL_SUPPORT).
